Chemistry Lab Equipment Names And Picture

Chemistry Lab Equipment

People often search in the google about the Chemistry Apparatus. But most of them are not satisfied. Some common search they make is :

1. What is the apparatus used in a laboratory?
2. List of Chemistry Apparatus/lab equipment
3. Uses of Laboratory equipment and their price
4. Common laboratory apparatus their uses

Here I'm going to answer all the questions and make an explanation and tell how to use different types of chemistry lab equipment.

In most labs, we can see the same basic apparatus. Here, you will get pictures of them and an explanation and you will know their uses.

Uses of Laboratory equipment

Safety goggles and safety equipment

Safety is the first and main rule of any laboratory! This is easily perceived or understood, but people often pay no attention to safety protocols and ignore the safety rules, by doing this they just put themselves in danger. The best way is you can follow all safety protocols at all time.

In all chemistry labs, Safety goggles are the first priority. If you are not wearing Safety goggles you may fall in danger of eye irritation and possibly blindness in the case of an accident. When you will be working with an acid a splash of it can hit your eye at any time. It is Better safe than permanently blinded!

Latex gloves must be used when there is a possibility of corrosive chemicals dripping onto your hands.

A lab apron or coat can also prevent injury and protect your dress from stain.

You should never wear open-toed shoes or sandals in a lab.

Beakers

Beaker is an ordinary flat container that is used by chemists for liquid retention. Most commonly used to mix, stir and heat chemical substances. Most beakers have flowers (a tube or lip), which help them to flow. Beaker often has lips around their rims and indentations to measure their overall volume, even though they are not an accurate method for fluid measurement. Beakers are available in various sizes.

or splashing, glass of clock may be used to cover the opening.

Watch Glass

A watch glass is a round glass to see. It is usually used for preventing the pollution of laboratory or splashing. It protects our eyes from injuries. So It's also an important element.

Erlenmeyer flasks

Erlenmeyer flasks is a glass which is known as Conical flask too.  The Erlenmeyer invented this glass in 1861 & its name is named after by Erlenmeyer. it’s structure. It's the narrow head is covered with a rubber or a glass stopper. But heating this flask when it is capped is very dangerous. If this flask faces much heat when it is capped then pressure can be build up & it can cause an explosion.

Its base is expanding & it becomes narrow towards its neck. For its structure, it is easy to mix & swirl chemical components. It is also danger-free for

Florence flasks, AKA boiling flask

Florence flask is a kind of flask which is known as a boiling flask and it has a round bottom and a long neck. This neck is used to hold the liquids and for that, it can be easily swirled and heated. It also can easily be capped by the rubber or a glass stopper be happen.

Here is also ming for not heating it when it is capped. Pressure can be build up and then an explosion can

A test tube

A test tube is a kind of glass tube which one side is open & other is closed. The closed ending side is rounded. Actually, it is used for holding small samples. At first, they are used for qualitative assessment and comparison. We can found it easily in a biochemistry lab. It is used when we need to compare & test a large number of samples.

It's easy to cap them with a rubber or a glass stopper. Test tube rack is used to hold them serially. It is dangerous to touch it with bare hands. Because it can be heated which can harm us. It's a good idea to hold or move a test tube with a test tube tongs. This statement is also true for it not to heat it when it is capped!

Crucibles

A crucible is looked like a small clay cup which is made up of materials that can thwart extreme temperature. They are used for heating the substance and come with the cover.

Funnels

             funnel

A funnel is usually made for use in a laboratory. It can be made by plastic or glass which can bear short steam or long steam it depends on their need. They can be of many sizes which are chosen based on the amount of liquid.

Graduated cylinders

This is a measuring tool which measures the volume of a liquid. The container is marking with up and down for specific increments. There are many sizes of them. The smaller one gives more specific measurements of volume. At the time of reading the volume from it, we can see the liquid seems to have an indentation. meniscus. The line of the lowest point which meniscus up with the nearest marking, keeps the cylinder level to properly read the volume.

The liquid which stays at the edge of it they become higher than the central one. They slopped down like a side of a trampoline when another is standing in the middle. This method is called

Volumetric flasks

It's around flask which has a long neck & a flat bottom. It measures the exact volume of liquid. In its neck, there is some line which indicates how far to fill the bottle. They used special caps which does not grant anything to come out and go in into it.

Temperature affects volume, therefore we have to avoid using liquids that will be flutter.

Droppers

        dropper

The dropper is a kind of glass tubes which has one end side with narrow tips and another side is covered with rubber blub. They are used to suck up liquids so that they can be squeezed out in small drops. We can use it to add an indicator to a solution about to be titrated.

Pipettes

There are a large number of pipettes designed to elegant specific goals. They also measure the exact volume of liquid and work for placing it into another container.

Burette

              Burette

A burette is a kind of glass tube which is open at the top side and comes to a narrow shape which pointed opening at the bottom side. The right side of the bottom has an opening stopcock that used to control the amount of liquid that released. They also mark the length of the tube that indicates the volume of liquid present.

There was all the chemical equipment. They are used in a laboratory for the measurements and also for safety. Safety is an important thing in a laboratory. When working we should be more careful about using these types of equipment.
